Because Kolo Charities and the Kowalkowski Open are administered
and organized by an all-volunteer group of dedicated and concerned
individuals, one hundred percent of all sponsorships and the majority of
golfers' fees are contributed to the charities it supports.
The organizations which Kolo
Charities supports benefit immeasurably
throughout the year.
Houghton Lake area businesses and residents
also benefit from the small crowd that gathers in the community
annually and from the proceeds
realized by the Houghton Lake Knights
of Columbus. You can benefit by
joining in this weekend of fun.
Since 1991, the organization has contributed
nearly $800,000 to various
charities. Kolo Charities now makes major contributions to Leader
Dogs
for the Blind of Rochester, Michigan, as well as the Child Abuse
Prevention and Treatment Program of HAVEN, which serves
Oakland County, Michigan, through the Detroit Lions Courage
House.
It also funds the Jack Danieleski Memorial Scholarship,
granted
annually to a deserving student from the Houghton Lake area.
In addition,
each year Kolo Charities chooses a variety of additional
causes to support;

a century,
the work of this group truly has changed many lives.
