EventsThe Kowalkowski Open, an annual golf tournament, is the main source of
fundraising for Kolo Charities. Held mid-June in Houghton Lake,
Michigan, at White Deer Country Club, it's just plain fun, down home, up
north. The lively and casual welcoming party at the Houghton Lake
Knights of Columbus Hall on Friday evening offers all who attend an
opportunity to meet the celebrities. Traditionally, current and former
members of the Detroit Lions, Red Wings, Tigers and media personalities
participate and are paired with foursomes on the courses on
Saturday. Proceeds from the Saturday evening awards party have the
added benefit of helping local causes supported by the Houghton Lake
Knights of Columbus.
